Enrollment FAQs
Any student permanently residing in the state of Wisconsin is eligible for admittance to Veritas Classical Academy.
Who is eligible to attend Veritas Classical Academy?
Veritas Classical Academy offers Kindergarten through 5th grade. We will be offering 6th grade starting for the 2026-2027 school year and adding a grade each year after until 12th.
Which grade levels are offered at Veritas Classical Academy?
Yes. Prospective parents, students, and community members are invited to attend an overview session — administration and enrollment staff will review the school’s academic philosophy, academic plan, school life, sports/activities, and explain the enrollment process. A Q&A follows. Registration is required. Confirmed dates are posted on the Enrollment Process page.
Is there an Open House or Information Session for parents to learn more about the school?
For the 2025-26 school year: students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2025 to be eligible for Kindergarten.
How old does my child need to be to apply for Kindergarten?
Yes. The school’s Student Services department provides support for students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), students significantly behind grade level, and offers services accordingly.
Does Veritas Classical admit students who are receiving special education services?
Yes. VCA provides English as a Second Language (ESL) support. However, the school does not offer full bilingual instruction.
Does Veritas Classical admit students who are English Language Learners (ELL)?
No. Once a student is officially enrolled, they remain enrolled for future years — provided they continue to reside within the area and meet academic/disciplinary guidelines as outlined in the Family Handbook. However, each spring parents must inform the school if their child will return for the next year.
Do current Veritas Classical students need to participate in the enrollment process every year?
Firstly, attend one of the Prospective Parent Enrollment Information Sessions (before or during the enrollment period). If you wish to continue, complete a lottery application for each student you are enrolling.
How do I enroll my student?
Yes. Parents should submit a lottery application during the application window to participate in the lottery. By submitting, you’re indicating interest in a seat in a certain grade — but it does not guarantee enrollment.
Is there an application or form I need to submit for enrollment?
Yes. Priority is given to:
- Students whose parent/guardian is a member of the Board of Directors or a full-time employee at VCA
- Siblings of students who already attend VCA
Is anyone given preference in the enrollment process and lottery?
For enrollment priority, “sibling” includes children who share at least one biological or legal parent (natural or adoptive), half-siblings, step-siblings, children related via guardianship or adoption, and foster children awaiting permanent placement — as long as they reside within the area.
How does VCA define a “sibling” for enrollment purposes?
No. Children of prospective full-time employees will participate in the lottery without employment-based preference. Seat availability and placement will be determined at the time of hiring.
If I am applying for full-time employment at VCA, will my child get preference in the lottery?
Lottery results and waitlist (by grade) will be available in each applicant’s online SchoolMint account immediately after the lottery. Parents are responsible for keeping their contact information up to date in the platform for notifications.
How will I learn the results of the lottery and know if my student has been granted a seat?
You must complete and return registration forms — along with valid supporting documentation — by the deadline provided by the enrollment manager. If you miss the deadline, the seat will be forfeited.
What happens once I am notified that my child(ren) has been granted an available seat?
No. Wait lists are terminated each year and do not carry over into the following year’s lottery.
Will the grade-level wait lists for the current school year carry over into the next school year’s enrollment period?
You must complete a separate application for each child. Each child receives a unique lottery number, and if applying to the same grade, they will be placed into individual — but consecutive — slots (either seats or waitlist) during the lottery.
How will my twins/triplets/multiples be handled in the lottery and enrollment process?
You must complete a separate application for each child. Each child receives a unique lottery number, and if applying to the same grade, they will be placed into individual — but consecutive — slots (either seats or waitlist) during the lottery.
